Want to get Digital Radio and Internet Radio but put off by the cost of new Home Theatre or hifi systems that support it? You can save hundreds and still get the new technology.

Simply purchase a DAB+ and Internet Radio receiver unit with an audio output and connect it to a spare input of your existing system. One suitable type is the Nextwave Digital DAB-390, but there are many others out there too. These units will have a 2 RCA audio out for analogue audio connection(the most compatible), but typically will also have some type of digital out, either optical or coaxial. All you need is one free input in the back of your hifi or home theatre receiver.

For internet radio you’ll need a unit that has wireless or otherwise you’ll need a wired LAN connection back to your router. Internet radio is a good addition though as it opens a whole world of possible stations and podcasts.
